报告内容摘要:
There is an increasing trend of using light-harvesting conjugated polyelectrolytes as signal reporters or signal amplifiers for chemical and biological detection. Cationic conjugated polyelectrolytes (CCP) in conjunction with dye labeled peptide nucleic acid probes have been used for sequence specific DNA detection with high sensitivity and selectivity. The signal output is largely dependent on the signal amplification provided by the CCP, which is greatly affected by the energy transfer efficiency between the CCP and the dye. In this talk, we will discuss different strategies to improve the fluorescent signal output and detection sensitivity for several DNA and protein assays. In addition, our recent progress of using CCPs for imaging and real-time naked eye detection and quantification of chemical and biological molecules will also be discussed.
